Misean Cara presents at 2021 International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD)

Join us on Tuesday 21st Sept when Misean Cara Senior Project Officer, Anthony Hannon, will present at the 2021 International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD). In its ninth year, the theme for the 2021 ICSD is ‘Research for Impact: An Inclusive and Sustainable Planet‘. The conference format will include panels, interviews, and keynote speakers held with Heads of State, UN Officials, SDG Advocates and other experts in development.

Appearing as part of the conference parallel session 6A on “Repairing SDG4 and the Right to Education” Anthony will present a paper authored by Misean Cara staff entitled “The Missionary Approach to Development: Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for the most marginalised”.

Session 6A will examine how, despite agreements that SDG 4 and the right to education are key to sustainable development, the attainment of the other SDGs, and the realisation of all human rights, efforts to support SDG 4 and the right to education have nonetheless been stymied by various factors. Discussions by speakers and moderators will explore the necessary repair work needed to both SDG4 and the right to education as a prerequisite to uplifting humanity and saving the planet.

In “The Missionary Approach to Development: Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for the most marginalised” presentation, Anthony will share with attendees how:

(1) Misean Cara’s evidence-based research shows that MADI is a valid and valuable approach to providing quality inclusive education for all;

(2) missionaries are uniquely positioned to provide quality education to especially marginalised or vulnerable people.
